CHIEF PEOPLE STRATEGIST

Gretchen McKinney is an experienced
business professional in developing organizational strategies,
risk management, investigations and case management,
Louisiana employment law, and human resources. She has
successfully worked for profit and not for profit organizations
in government, retail, financial services and military settings. 
Today, she is leveraging her years of experience and expertise
for her clients, helping them to develop and harness
organizational agility to achieve the success critical to their
business imperatives. This centers on positioning HR to facilitate
the adoption of agile principles and practices at any level in a
business context.

She was named to the St. Tammany Parish Government's
Economic Recovery and Resiliency Advisory Council following
the start of the COVID19 pandemic. She currently facilitates the
SHRM learning system for individuals preparing to take the
SHRM certification test. She is also serving as a Coach and 
Presenter for the Corporate Internship Leadership Institute


Ms. McKinney previously served in dual roles as the City of
Mandeville’s Civil Service Director and Human Resources
Director from 2000 until 2017. In these roles she supported the
Mandeville Police, Public Works, Planning & Zoning, Legal, Finance,
and Cultural Events Departments. Prior to working for the City of

Mandeville, Ms. McKinney worked with the US Navy Drug and
Alcohol Programs Advisor (Navy DAPA) as a civilian facilitator of their Personal
Responsibility and Values Training (PREVENT).  Additionally, she served in
a variety of roles for organizations such as Opryland Hotel, Ford
Motor Credit, Cygnet Financial, and Sam’s Club; and she worked
in the legal domain for civil attorneys and a criminal court in
Bryan, Texas.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A & M University. She is a certified Human Resources Professional holding both SHRM-SCP and SPHR credentialing. She has been a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) for 20 years, and the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR). Ms. McKinney is Past President and Honorary Lifetime Member of the Northshore Society for Human Resource Management, and currently sits on their Board of Directors as the Diversity Director. She has served the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management Board of Directors and was the State Council Director for Louisiana SHRM in 2013 and 2014. She has served on the D&I Summit Organizing Committee since its inception in 2015.
